President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan today received Eugene Kaspersky, world-known cyber security specialist with significant contribution in the sphere of high technologies, as well as director of Kaspersky Lab, one of the largest private companies in the world.
Mr Kaspersky has received the 2015 Award of the President of Armenia for his contribution in the global IT sphere.
The President welcomed Eugene Kaspersky and his wife to Armenia, noting that the country attaches great importance to the development of the IT development, which is one of the most important branches of its economy. Sargsyan considered invaluable the work carried out by Kaspersky Lab in the sphere of cyber security, wishing him success in implementing that important work.
For his part, Eugene Kaspersky said it’s the third time he has visited Armenia, each time managing to combine his work with tourism. He had wonderful impressions from the country. According to Mr. Kaspersky, Armenia’s progress in the IT sphere is considerable.
He also thanked the President for the award. “I’m very happy to have been granted this authoritative award. The world is becoming more computerized and digitized, and [hence] the significance of IT for the economy and public life is growing. We will definitely continue to support Armenia’s initiatives aimed at the IT sphere development,” Eugene Kaspersky said at the meeting.
Reception in honor of Mr Kasperksy and his wife will be held in the President’s Palace in the evening. on occasion of the Armenia President’s 2015 award for the global contribution in the IT sphere.
