Movses Hakobyan, a former chief of the Armenian military’s General Staff, strongly rejected Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s claims about his role in the 2020 Artsakh war.
Testifying before a parliamentary commission probing the war, Pashinyan questioned his right to be at the Artsakh Defense Army’s command bunker during the war.
Also, the premier stated that Hakobyan ordered the complete withdrawal of Armenian troops from the 7th defense district in early October 2020, which was not justified and was not implemented only after his intervention.
“I advise this man to either be treated in a psychiatric hospital or read up on my rights and responsibilities. How should I comment on the statements of this lunatic? I have no right to issue orders, he doesn’t even know that. What is there to comment on? This man is sick,” Hakobyan told 24News.
“I have no right to make decisions, give orders, let the Prosecutor’s Office open a criminal case, I will provide explanations then,” he said.
