Former Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Davit Tonoyan, will be released from detention. In an interview with Armenpress, Tonoyan’s lawyer, Albert Benglyan, stated that the court has changed Tonoyan’s measure of restraint, and he will be released on bail of 15 million drams.
“We are now working on paying the bail. If we manage to present the payment to the court today, Davit Tonoyan will be released today; if not, then tomorrow,” Benglyan said.
David Tonoyan has been charged in a criminal case involving abuses in the supply of ammunition. Also implicated are David Galstyan, the head of the company supplying weapons to Armenia, and Stepan Galstyan, the former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
