There are no restrictions on the development of relations between Iran and Armenia, Iranian First Vice President Es’haq Jahangiri said in Yerevan.
The Iranian official held talks with Armenian PM Hovik Abrahamyan earlier on Wednesday that were followed by a meeting of delegations.
Expressing satisfaction with the development of ties between the two countries, Vice-President of the Islamic Republic noted that they had discussed issues related to the development of relations in different areas.
Es’haq Jahangiri added that Iran’s success in talks over nuclear program has created new conditions and perspective for the development of economic ties.
As to the construction of the third power transmission lines, the process continues successfully thanks to the arrangements reached during Armenian PM’s visit to Iran last year. The Iranian side is confident that it will be completed shortly, he added.
Vice-President said that issues of transport communications and rail links had been discussed during the meeting in Yerevan. However, the Iranian official did not specify the details, expressing hope that it will be possible to connect the Persian Gulf to the Black Sea in cooperation with other regional countries.
The Iranian Vice President also referred to Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union that opens new gate for cooperation and underscored necessity of creating a mechanism of a singe customs window.
According to Mr. Jahangiri, upcoming Armenian-Iranian business forum will give an impetus to the development of relations.
As reported earlier, an Armenian-Iranian business forum scheduled for Thursday will bring together representatives of around 300 companies.
