The “Light Your Candle” pan-Armenian flashmob organized by the Armenian Center for PR Development, which is dedicated to the 100thanniversary of the Armenian Genocide, is becoming widely popular. Groups and individuals from Armenia and abroad have already joined the flashmob, including employees of Fortuna TV of Armenia’s Lori Province, which joined yesterday. The Center expresses gratitude to the entire staff of Fortuna TV for setting an example.
Through this flashmob, the Center wants to stress the fact that the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide symbolizes Renaissance and that it took the Armenians 100 years to get back on their feet. The Center’s goal is to host 1.5 million (a symbolic number) Armenians in Armenia in April.
All Armenians from Armenia and abroad can participate in the pan-Armenian flashmob. To participate, the participant must send a video invitation to a Diaspora Armenian to visit Armenia. Holding a lit candle in his or her hand, the participant must call on his or her friend living abroad to visit Armenia in April and light a candle together. At the end of the video, the participant must mention the names of a couple of people to include them in the flashmob.
