Azerbaijan’s increasing false claims of Armenian ceasefire violations are used to justify Azerbaijan’s own ceasefire violations, and tend to precede larger-scale Azerbaijani attacks. Lindsey Snell, an internationally known American journalist who covers conflicts and crises in the Caucasus, the Middle East, and North Africa, noted this on X—former Twitter.
“As Azerbaijan has intensified territorial demands in the Tavush region [of Armenia] over the last weeks, this is troubling,” Snell added.
