The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group is the only negotiations’ format which is accepted with joint agreement by the parties to the conflict, said spokesperson Roman Nadal of the French Foreign Ministry.
He noted this responding to French Armenian Nouvelles d’Arménie monthly magazine’s query on how France reacts to Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev’s recent statements that he considers the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs—which comprise Russia, US, and France—to be “provocateurs.”
“France continues the steady work, within the framework of the Minsk Group co-chairs, to assist in settling the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict justly and in a durable way,” Nadal said. “We carry out the mediation mission with a strong respect toward impartiality between the parties [to this conflict].”
