Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the Canadian parliamentary delegation headed by Senator Leo Housakos.
The Prime Minister attached importance to the development of cooperation between Armenia and Canada in various directions and added that the bilateral relations have recently been of a dynamic nature. Nikol Pashinyan emphasized Canada’s support to the Armenian government in the implementation of democratic reforms. At the same time, Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the importance of the decision of Canada to join the EU civil mission in Armenia.
The members of the Canadian parliamentary delegation expressed concern regarding the situation created resulted by the policy of ethnic cleansing implemented by Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh.
In this context, reference was made to the humanitarian problems of more than 100,000 forcibly displaced persons, as well as the steps taken by the Armenian government to overcome them.
The sides exchanged thoughts on the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
