Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization in a phone call with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, the Kremlin said on Tuesday.
Putin told Raisi about the activities of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, including the supplies of humanitarian aid to civilians, protection of rights and security of the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh.
“The presidents of Russia and Iran emphasized the importance of resolving all issues exclusively through peaceful, political and diplomatic means. They expressed mutual interest in activating the work of the consultative regional platform “3+3″, which includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia plus Russia, Iran and Turkey,” the Kremlin said.
