Former Armenian Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan, chair of the Tatoyan Foundation, claims the policy of Armenophobia helps Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his regime maintain their grip on power.
He took to Facebook on Tuesday to mark the eight anniversary of Azerbaijan’s large-scale military offensive against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) launched on 2 April 2016.
“At the time, I was in Artsakh and personally witnessed the atrocities committed by the Azeris. Azerbaijan has always made it clear that it will never move towards peace as its government is anchored on Armenophobia and racism,” he wrote.
“Armenophobia guarantees the Azerbaijani regime’s stay in power,” Tatoyan added.
