The Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission of the US Congress will hold hearings on the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of the blocking of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan, the aforesaid commission noted in a statement.
Luis Moreno Ocampo, the former prosecutor of the International Criminal Court who presented a report on August 7 stressing that there are reasonable grounds to believe that a genocide is being committed against the Armenians living in Nagorno-Karabakh, will present his expert opinion at the hearings
And David Phillips, Director of the Program on Peace-building and Rights at Columbia University’s Institute for the Study of Human Rights, will testify about the facts related to the intention of the Azerbaijani government.
The aforesaid hearings will be held on September 6, and will be broadcast on the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission’s website.
