The World Bank forecasts a 4.1 percent economic growth for Armenia in 2018. The growth is expected to pick up to 4 percent in both 2019 and 2020, according to the bank’s new report on the Global Economic Prospects.
The report says growth in the region is projected to moderate to an upwardly revised 3.2 percent in 2018 and edge down to 3.1 percent in 2019, as a modest recovery among commodity exporting economies is only partially offset by a slowdown among commodity importers.
In Turkey, growth is forecast to slow to 4.5 percent in 2018 and to 4 percent in both 2019 and 2020. Russia’s economic growth is anticipated to hold steady at a 1.5 percent rate this year and accelerate to 1.8 percent in both 2019 and 2020.
Georgia’s economy is projected at 4.5 percent this year, 4.8 percent in 2019 and 5 percent in 2020
The bank, meantime, predicts a 1.8 percent economic growth in Azerbaijan in 2018 and a 3.8 and 3.2 percent growth in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
