Hrant Dink’s killer wants to testify again

Ogün Samast, who is sentenced to 22 years in prison for the murder of Hrant Dink, has petitioned to the court, with a request to give new evidence.

Hakan Bakırcıoğlu, who is one of the Dink family attorneys, informed that Samast’s case was joined to the main case into Hrant Dink’s murder, reported Mynet website of Turkey.

The attorney noted that Ogün Samast has petitioned to the chief judge of the respective court, and with a request that he be transferred from the prison in Kocaeli city to a penitentiary in Istanbul, so that he may give new evidence regarding the Dink murder case.

Hrant Dink was the founder and chief editor of Agos Armenian bilingual weekly of Istanbul, and he was shot dead on January 19, 2007 outside the office of his weekly, by Ogün Samast, who was a minor at the time.
