Pashinyan: IT sector ‘key priority’ for Armenian government

The IT industries are treated as a pioneer in Armenia in terms of breaking down the barriers of impossibility, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today as he hosted a delegation of leading IT specialists.

Highlighting the increasing attention to sector as a key priority, the premier also promised  a government-level assistance to its development.

“There are certainly problems whose solution is in the practical domain; yet, we see also one very important and delicate moment obliging us to attach importance to IT development. It is not only a practical problem but also, we believe, an ideological one. We have developed the following perception of the information technologies: that’s a tool which expands the boundaries of the possible, narrowing further the scopes of impossibility,” he said, describing the approach as a key ideological trend of the modern period.

“This holds true for practically all the sectors, and is the most important ideological issue today – given the blockade of ‘impossibility’ which the Republic of Armenia and the people of Armenia had been facing for years. We have to state today that nothing is impossible for us, as all our goals are virtually achievable. Their realization is our practical task – no matter to what extent others consider it possible, ” the prime minister added.

He also assured the guests that the process of expanding the boundaries of possible “is now underway in Armenia”. encouraging them to “pursue the realization of the declared objective”.

“The Armenian citizens, and the people of Armenia should play the role of a pioneer in this respect. With our increasingly new achievemnets, we should act as pleasant ‘surprise makers’ for the entire world, including orselves,” he added.
