Ambassador: Armenia welcomes peace initiative in Syria

Armenia welcomes any initiative to achieve peace, national solidarity, and general stability in Syria.

Armenia’s Ambassador to Syria, Arshak Poladian, noted the aforementioned at the official reception organized by the Embassy of Armenia in Damascus, and on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of Armenia’s independence, informed the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.

Poladian, in his remarks at the event, especially reflected on Armenia’s achievements in recent years, Armenian-Syrian relations, Armenian Genocide Centennial commemorations, and the domestic political situation in Syria.

In addition, the ambassador presented to renowned Syrian social and cultural figure, writer Nabil Tohme, the Medal of Gratitude awarded to him by the decree of President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, and in recognition of Tohme’s contribution to the development of Armenian-Syrian cultural relations.
