French ambassador returns to Azerbaijan after being recalled for consultations

French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne Bouillon has returned to Baku and has already resumed her diplomatic activities, the Azerbaijani media reports, citing diplomatic sources.

France recalled its ambassador to Azerbaijan for consultations on April 16, accusing Baku of taking “unilateral actions damaging to the relationship between our two countries”.

In a meeting with Boillon in Paris, French President Emmanuel Macron said he “regretted Azerbaijan’s actions and expressed a wish for clarification by the Azerbaijani side of its intentions”, the foreign ministry reported.
