Germany expects that the Karabakh conflict will have a diplomatic and peaceful solution, based on the Madrid Principles, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said during a joint media conference with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Berlin.
“We want to adopt a single package, which will offer a step-by-step solution based on the Madrid Principles. We need to provide assistance to the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group so that this process could move forward,” she said in response to a question about possible “sanctions against Armenia”.
