Official: Decision on peacekeepers’ pullout from Karabakh made by top leadership of Azerbaijan, Russia

The decision to withdraw Russian peacekeepers from Nagorno-Karabakh was made jointly by the top leadership of Azerbaijan and Russia, TASS reported, citing Azerbaijani presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev.

“The process has already begun. The defense ministries of Azerbaijan and Russia are taking the necessary measures to implement the decision,” Hajiyev told the Azerbaijan State News Agency on Wednesday.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov earlier confirmed the Russian withdrawal from Karabakh.
