President Sarkissian: Armenia-EU deal opens up new cooperation opportunities

Armenian President Armen Sarkissian on Tuesday hosted EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar, the presidential office said.

The president highlighted the continuous development of relations and constructive dialogue with the European Union. He said that the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed between Armenia and the EU last year opens up new opportunities for cooperation.

The officials exchanged views over the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict’s settlement process. President Sarkissian reiterated Armenia’s commitment to the negotiation process mediated by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, adding the country is committed to continuing the talks to achieve the peaceful settlement of the conflict.
