Newspaper: Armenia’s second President permanently resides in US

Haykakan Zhamanak (Armenian Time) newspaper reported that second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, now mainly resides in the US.

“According to press reports, he bought a luxury home there, and he spends much of his life there, with family.

“By the way, it is believed that he left Armenia especially to show that he does not at all get involved in the domestic political and electoral processes [in the country].

“And by staying away, Kocharyan does not wish to harm these [political] forces [in Armenia that are linked to his name], since his name could have a negative impact on these forces,” wrote Haykakan Zhamanak.
