Anti-corruption bill on Armenian parliament’s agenda

The Armenian National Assembly has convened a special session to debate a draft law dealing with anti-corruption measures.

The bill proposes specific steps towards creating a special commission tasked with preventing corruption risks. The new body, whose foundations will be laid upon the Commission on Ethics of High-Ranking Officials, will deal with the protection of ethical norms, conflict of interests, incompatibility claims and other restrictions against high-ranking officials and public servants.
It will also be vested with the power to enforce punitive measures.
