Hayastan Fund Donates Neonatal-care Equipment to Two Medical Institutions in Artsakh

Through the sponsorship of benefactors Daniel and Isabel Yousefian of Argentina, the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund has donated state-of-the-art neonatal-care equipment to two medical institutions in Artsakh, the Maternal and Child Health Center and the Arevik Children’s Hospital. The donation includes two sets of infant incubators and monitors for each establishment.

The German-made Drager incubators provide all the necessary conditions for the critically important care of premature or low-weight newborns during the initial days following birth, by regulating humidity, temperature, and oxygen levels. On their part, the monitors keep the newborns’ respiratory and cardiovascular systems under constant observation.

Vardges Osipov, the executive director of the Maternal and Child Health Center, says that the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where the incubators and monitors will be utilized, is a key component of the facility. Annually, between 100 and 120 premature or low-weight babies, as well as full-term babies with medical complications, are born in Artsakh, requiring intensive care and monitoring. The devices donated by the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund will enable the beneficiary healthcare centers to provide such babies with treatment and care of the highest possible quality.
