The Ministry of Finance of Armenia has presented how much the country’s state budget deficit will be in 2024.

The Armenian government plans that in 2024, state budget expenditures will exceed the revenues by 483 billion drams.

The deficit of the state budget will increase by 67 percent in 2024 compared to the program indicator of the previous year, which is due to the increase in the budget capital and current expenses.

The state budget deficit of Armenia is projected to be 4.6 percent of the country’s GDP in 2024, instead of the 3.1 percent planned for 2023 and the 2.1 percent for 2022.

“The deficit of the state budget in relation to the GDP shows how big the burden of the deficit is for the economy, and a lower indicator is considered a positive result,” added the Ministry of Finance.
