Our Graduates

Lori Manoukian

B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D.

 

We have the pleasure to announce that one of Tekeyan Cultural Association’s young members and an Armen-Québec graduate has just obtained her Ph.D. degree from McGill University.

After graduating from Armen-Quebec (Gr 8), Lori continued her studies at numerous Canadian universities.

The daughter of Arto and Annie Manoukian, Lori Manoukian holds a B.Sc. Hons in Earth Sciences from Dalhousie University, a M.Sc. in Environmental Geochemistry from Queen’s University and holds a Ph.D. in Mining and Materials Engineering from McGill University. During her doctoral research, Lori’s focus centered on innovative nutrient recovery techniques from water treatment processes utilizing microorganisms.

She was the recipient of 11 honors and awards. So far, she has also published 6 technical papers in renowned journals.

We also learned that Lori and a team of scientists are actively involved in developing environmentally friendly and economically feasible strategies for Armenia’s mining industry, acting as

Co – founder, International Chamber of Mines of Armenia (ICMA) and

Co – founder, Armenian International Mining and Metallurgy Society (AIMMS)

We are extremely proud and congratulate her and her family for such high achievements.
